Preliminary Hull Design

The hull design team began working on a preliminary design of the canoe shape. Extensive research was conducted to guide the team on the tradeoffs associated with canoe hull design; what cross sectional shapes provide the best speed, balance, and maneuverability?

With the use of a boat design software program, PolyCAD, Cristian Huertas began designing an early version of our canoe hull. This is the first step in the process of designing the canoe.
