Concrete Mix Design Testing

The mix design team began prototyping different concrete mixes. This was done by proportioning different combinations of ingredients based on the past month's research. The mixes were put into cubic molds. Different molds were left to cure for 7 - 28 days. As seen in the photo, the mix design team tested these mixes for their compressive strength. The first mix that the team made consisted of Portland Cement Type I as its main cementitious material, and several aggregates. The aggregate that was used the most, in terms of volume, was Elemix, an additive that is lightweight and helps with buoyancy.
